Whether it be into autumn or spring, it’s amazing to think the whole world is in transition right now — changing seasons, colors, and rhythms. And I hope that for all of us, these coming weeks will be marked by hope, joy, and the arrival of beauty.
This month’s globe-spanning sketching challenge — which included moments from 80 artists in more than 20 countries — reminded me yet again of how big the world is, and how blessed we are to be a part of it. Thank you all for making it happen!

Van Gogh’s words felt like the perfect Valentine’s inspiration to share today; that even when we’re feeling rusty or out of the flow, perhaps the best way for us to start over is by returning to the love of art and creativity that first drew us to sketching.
Thank you all for helping make our challenges more than just about sketching. For me, each and every challenge is not only a celebration of art, but of art’s ability to bring us all a little bit closer together — no matter where in the world we call home.
