Happy Friday, Moment Sketchers, and Happy Valentin Happy Friday, Moment Sketchers, and Happy Valentine’s Day as well! ✨ I couldn’t imagine a more fitting day to share just a small glimpse of the absolutely beautiful postcards you’ve been sharing and sending across the globe for our first ever community postcard exchange, #sketchedwithlove. Our wonderful exchange host, @raspberrythief, went above and beyond to pair artists not only from different countries, but often different continents as well, so it’s been amazing to see the postcards beginning to arrive in their destinations — making their way from Israel to California, Arizona to Australia, and from Germany to Rhode Island. Thanks so much again to Angela for leading our most exciting challenge yet, and thank you to everyone who helped fill the world with more connection and love this month! 😍🎨🌏💌🙏

Happy second day of our February sketching challen Happy second day of our February sketching challenge, friends! In addition to kicking off our first-ever community postcard exchange #sketchedwithlove (all thanks to our amazing exchange host @raspberrythief 👏👏), there have also been so many great sketches shared so far this weekend — from peaceful, wintry snowscapes to gorgeous bursts of color hinting that spring is on its way. Can’t wait to see what the rest of this weekend holds for us! 🎨🌏🙏

Today’s the day, friends! Our February sketching Today’s the day, friends! Our February sketching challenge is officially kicking off — as is our first community postcard exchange 😍🎨💌 I’m truly blown away that “Sketched with Love” has 86 people involved so far, and I can’t wait to see how the swap continues to grow over the weekend. Thank you so much to our amazing exchange host @raspberrythief for bringing us all together, and thank you to everyone who’s signed up as well — it’s going to be incredible to watch your sketches send love across the world this month! ❤️
One day and counting til our February challenge ki One day and counting til our February challenge kicks off, friends! 🎉 And for this month, we’ve got something pretty special planned... A few weeks ago, Angela (@raspberrythief) mentioned the idea of doing a Moment Sketchers postcard exchange. With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, this weekend felt like the perfect time to make it happen — and so we’re thrilled to announce, “Sketched with Love: A global watercolor postcard exchange.” Here’s how to join in: 1. Comment on this post with “I’m in!” and what country you’re joining from. 💌 2. For the exchange, you’ll be paired with another artist in our community as your sketching penpal. Our lovely exchange host Angela (@raspberrythief) will be in touch this weekend letting you know who you’ve been paired with, so you can then swap addresses with each other via direct message. 💌 3. Create a watercolor postcard either during our February sketching challenge this weekend or anytime during the first week of February, before sending it off to your penpal (fingers crossed it'll land in their mailboxes just in time for Valentine's Day). Note: For your postcard, 300gsm watercolor paper works best, or you can slip your postcard into an envelope as well to ensure it arrives safely (you’re also more than welcome to use any medium you’re comfortable with, not only watercolors). 💌 4. Share any photos of your postcard and/or the postcard you receive on Instagram, using the exchange hashtag: #sketchedwithlove And that’s it! Let’s fill the world with more creativity, connection, and love this month 💌🎨🌎🙏✨
Two days and counting, Moment Sketchers! As we gea Two days and counting, Moment Sketchers! As we gear up for our February challenge this weekend, here’s another beautiful sketch created this month by @fokesingh in the Netherlands — and I love the words that Foke shared with her sketch just as much: “Sketching something common and so every day, makes me explore and appreciate what I otherwise would not have noticed. View from top of my mother’s house. Just like so many other streets in our country, but characteristic in its own way. Urban sketching alright 😊”
Three days and counting until our February challen Three days and counting until our February challenge, Moment Sketchers! 🎉 As always, I love taking a look back before we kick off a new weekend of sketching — and for our January challenge, not only did we have 74 artists taking part in 19 countries, but we also had six new friends join us for the first time. I’ve tagged them here with their amazing sketches, so be sure to say hello and give them a warm welcome to our rather wonderful tribe 🤗🎨🙏 I’m looking forward to this weekend!

Happy Thursday, Moment Sketchers! I hope you’ll Happy Thursday, Moment Sketchers! I hope you’ll forgive me for being so tardy rounding up this month’s challenge (as José pointed out, we’re officially closer to our February challenge now than January’s 😅), but we’ve just returned to Uruguay after a month-long holiday adventure in the US and Canada — and yet I couldn’t have asked for anything better to come home to than your latest collection of sketches...and as this collage attests, our first challenge of 2020 was brought to us by the color blue 😍🎨💙 As soon as I noticed this bold shade of azure running through so many of your sketches this month, I knew that was the motif to feature — especially as they’re from such different parts of the world: from @1treava’s incredible Icelandic slippers to @boggydoodles’ expressive capture of the Lake District to @quemadodog’s striking blue sky over the American Southwest. Thank you all for getting our fourth year together off to such a colorful start! ✨
